As the AWEC community continues to grow, one thing is clear: African women entrepreneurs are ready to build smarter, not just bigger. For Cohort 9’s 200 businesses, growth is reaching a tipping point where human effort alone can no longer sustain scale. While 75% of applicants report access to AI tools, only a small fraction are using them effectively. This is no longer an access issue, but a capability gap. In today’s fast-moving economy, AI is the critical ingredient for managing complexity, improving productivity, and unlocking revenue. Closing this gap will define which businesses scale sustainably and which fall behind.
