Mimi Murphy

Mimi Murphy is the Director of Program Operations at the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative.

A proud AWEC team member for over 3 years, Mimi is passionate about data-powered decisions and improving processes and operations. An avid data enthusiast, Mimi has spent the last 3 years building the impact evaluations department, where she rigorously collects, analyzes, and reports on the impact of the program on the AWEC community. She is passionate about storytelling and loves to incorporate data when sharing the stories of hundreds of inspirational women entrepreneurs across Africa.

Mimi strives to ensure the AWEC program runs smoothly from start to finish. She oversees the admissions process and onboarding of accepted Fellows, provides personalized program support throughout the year, and manages event logistics, both virtual and in-person. Mimi has honed her project management skills where she applies her attention to detail, creative and innovative mindset, and enthusiasm to better support the AWEC community and her team.

Before joining AWEC, Mimi worked in a variety of government-related jobs, from political campaigns and the U.S. Senate to private government affairs offices of Fortune 500 companies.

Mimi is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Relations. When she is not working, you can find Mimi traveling to new places, training for marathons, or relaxing with a book and a chilled non-alcoholic beer.
